Digvijay Tanwar
Animator for The Engineering Institute

Digvijay TanwarWhen Digvijay describes what he does at The Engineering Institute, it sounds like an episode of a crime drama. As a recent animation graduate, Tanwar reconstructs automobile, truck and motor cycle accidents scenes for criminal cases.

To recreate an accident scene for a court of law requires accuracy and meticulous calculations. Fortunately Tanwar thrives on detail.  His job at The Engineering Institute takes into account every detail of the accident, starting with the site inspection where all of the evidence is collected. Police reports are read, calculations and measures are taken and comparisons are made. Once all of the data and evidence has been carefully analyzed, Tanwar then reconstructs the accident in 3D animation. Tanwar likens his position as the visual link between the engineers and the jury. Animating a crime scene clearly explains what engineering calculations cannot.

Tanwar graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Animation. His degree and his own work ethic landed him a great job where he is able to animate in 2D and 3D. The nature of his job allows him to experience all aspects of accident reconstruction, including biomechanical response, crashworthiness, evidence documentation and testing, fire investigation, glass failure, metallurgy, occupant motion, restraint systems, roof crush, and vehicle stability.

To unwind, Tanwar opts for speed and movement.  He skydives, drives a motorcycle or just takes the top off his jeep and enjoys the lush greenery of the Arkansas countryside.
